We are writing you with a very special request.

Every year hundreds of Oxford House residents gather from around the country and the world to hold an annual convention. At the 13^th annual Oxford House World Convention in Washington, D.C. last September, it was announced that Oklahoma City, OK will host the 2012 convention. Oxford Houses of Oklahoma is very proud that our great state was chosen. It is our goal to make this the best World Convention ever. In order to do that we need your help!

Oxford houses are self-run and self-supported worldwide recovery homes for individuals in recovery from addiction of alcohol and or other drugs. Since Oxford House began in 1975, thousands of people have given up the use of their addictions and become productive, taxpaying citizens of the community.  Our current success rate is 87%. Today there are fifty-five Oxford Houses in Oklahoma and it is estimated that through the concept of self-support, houses will contribute over $2 million dollars combined to the community through rent payments, taxes, shopping, and utility payments. Oxford Houses fulfill the need of a supportive home and a surrogate family until the person becomes comfortable in their recovery.  All our houses are gender specific, all men, all women or women with children. We are self-sustaining in our daily operations; however, this is a special event.

Your support is vital to the continued success of our program!

The object of this conference is to enhance the continued successful operation of our homes.  We encourage the members of each house to send their newly elected house officers for training. We are asking you to donate any amount that you can contribute to Oxford Houses of Oklahoma.

Please make checks payable to “Oxford House Oklahoma”.

However, no donation is too small and we would be grateful for any amount that you would be able to provide.

Oxford House Inc. is a 501c (3) non-profit Corporation (our umbrella corporation) and charters all of our houses in Oklahoma. Your donation will be considered tax deductible by the IRS.  We will be pleased to acknowledge your company as a contributor in our program. 2012 World Convention in OKC

OKC is hosting next year’s convention. We have a duty to raise money to host the Friday night event and dinner, along with the hospitality suite and food/drinks.

I am asking all houses in the state to increase their individual EES by $1.00 each week. If every house does this we will raise close to $15,000 by next July.

Is giving back worth $1.00 per week out of you pocket???
